Music News & Events

All Saints' has a strong but largely volunteer music program consisting of a church choir, a handbell choir, and a brass quintet. None are professional musicians but many are serious amateurs who consider music their avocation.

Our church has an 8:00am service without music (except on Easter) and a 10:15 service with music. Our 25-person choir, conducted by Justin Raffa, leads congregational singing and provides an offertory anthem and sometimes an additional communion anthem. The anthems are usually classical, contemporary, spiritual, or folk music (in decreasing order of frequency) usually accompanied on the piano but sometimes accompanied on the organ, a capella, or with other accompaniment (e.g., flute, violin, brass).

Hymns

Hymns are largely traditional from The Hymnal, Wonder, Love, and Praise (an extension of the hymnal), and other sources. They are usually played on our 12 rank Balcom and Vaughn pipe organ with some on the piano. The organist plays a prelude and postlude, four hymns, a psalm sung by choir and congregation, and three pieces of service music. We have a rotating corps of organists.
